The Service Work: Drawing on Service Learning's 12 years of relationships and connections developed with social service agencies throughout Paris, your placement - usually one or two students to a site - will see you undertaking the actual work of the organization. That is, you will not stuff envelopes and run the copying machine, but, if, for example, you are with ENTR'AIDE A DOMICILE PERSONNES AGEES, which organizes drop-in programs and home visits for the elderly, you will be one of the workers who visits with an aging WWII veteran; if at ENFANTS DE LA GOUTTE D'OR, a community center for an immigrant population, you may well work with a refugee child whose scars are from a machete.
